Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Seven arrests, seven deer struck

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 385 calls for service from July 1 through July 10. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 7,868 calls for service.

Arrests

Andrea M. Doray, 18, of Dresden was arrested July 4 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Middle Road, Dresden, by Sgt. Mark Bridgham.

Jonathan W. Doray, 41, of Dresden was arrested July 4 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Middle Road, Dresden, by Sgt. Mark Bridgham.

Steven M. Cherkis, 54, of Dresden was arrested July 4 for Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening – Priors (x2) and Domestic Violence Assault – Priors, on Calls Hill Road, Dresden, by Sgt. Kevin Dennison.

Ronnie Russomano, 44, of Winthrop was arrested July 5 for Violating Condition of Release, Obstructing Report of Crime and Domestic Violence Assault – Priors, on Ice Pond Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.

Allen Z.W. Simmons, 29, of Alna was arrested July 6 for Violating Condition of Release and Domestic Violence Assault, on West Alna Road, Alna, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.

James J. Penatzer, 48, of Dresden was arrested July 7 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Morton Road, Dresden, by Deputy Andrew Miner.

Joseph Richards, 51, of Damariscotta was arrested July 9 for Domestic Violence Assault, on West Hamlet Road, Newcastle, by Sgt. Jared Mitkus.

Summonses

Vaughn E. Nastvogel, 41, of Nobleboro was issued a summons July 4 for Assault, on Lily Drive, Nobleboro, by Deputy Sean Pfahler.

Elmer E. Warren, 49, of Dresden was issued a summons July 5 for Violating Condition of Release, on Amy Circle, Dresden, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.

Isaiah J. Seigars, 18, of Alna was issued a summons July 5 for Assault, on Cross Road, Alna, by Deputy Andrew Miner, who was assisted by Sgt. Matthew Day.

Tucker L. Johns, 24, of Oakdale, Connecticut was issued a summons July 8 for Failure to Notify Owner of PD Accident, on River Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.

Accidents

On July 1, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving James A. Wilhoit, 61, of Noble, Oklahoma. Mr. Wilhoit was operating is 2018 Chevrolet Suburban northbound when a deer entered the roadway from the east and was struck. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.

On July 2, an accident occurred on Head Tide Road in Whitefield involving David V. Hardman, 23, of Whitefield. Mr. Hardman was operating his 2010 Ford Fusion northbound when a deer entered the roadway from the left side, crossed the road and was struck.  Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On July 3, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in South Bristol involving Darren Smith, 52, of South Bristol. Mr. Smith was operating his 1996 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound when he attempted to make a right turn onto the Split Rock Road. Mr. Smith failed to negotiate the corner and as a result, his motorcycle left the roadway and rolled over into the ditch. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.

On July 5, an accident occurred on Bunker Hill Road in Jefferson involving Michael P. Lagueux, 37, of Jefferson. Mr. Lagueux was operating his 2010 Nissan Altima northbound when a deer ran into the roadway from the left, where it then stop in the middle of the road. Mr. Lagueux attempted to avoid the deer, however, it attempted to jump over the vehicle, but did not make the jump. Deputy Sean Pfahler was the investigating officer.

On July 6, an accident occurred on Ocean Point Road in Boothbay involving Lyndon J. Roberts, 64, of Trevett. Mr. Roberts was operating his 2008 Dodge Caravan northbound when a deer entered the roadway and was struck. Sgt. Mark Bridgham was the investigating officer.

On July 7, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Zachary A. Pierce, 27, of Dresden and Blaine W. Noonan, 66, of Boothbay Harbor. Mr. Pierce was operating his 1997 Ford Taurus southbound and Mr. Noonan was operating his 2016 Dodge Ram northbound when Mr. Pierce crossed the centerline and struck Noonan’s vehicle. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.

On July 8, an accident occurred on Main Road on Westport Island involving Mark W. Douglas, 49, of Vero Beach, Florida. Mr. Douglas was operating his 2016 Toyota southbound and did not see a deer in the wood line until it was too late and struck it. Deputy Sean Pfahler was the investigating officer.

On July 9, an accident occurred on Moxie Cove Road in Bristol involving Spencer K. Clark, 29, of Taos, New Mexico. Mr. Clark was operating his 2010 Ducati 848 motorcycle northbound, approaching the intersection when he attempted to stop on loose gravel and laid the motorcycle down on the right side. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On July 9, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Vincent C. Dwyer, 71, of Jefferson. Mr. Dwyer was operating his 2013 Lincoln MKZ southbound when a deer crossed the road in front of his vehicle, causing the front passenger corner to impact the deer. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On July 9, an accident occurred on Biscay Road in Bremen involving Theresa M. Heffernan, 63, of Rockland, Massachusetts. Ms. Heffernan was operating her 2016 Subaru Crosstrek southbound when a deer crossed the road in front of her vehicle and was struck, causing damage to the driver’s side front and rear door. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.
