Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: More deer-car accidents

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a total of 380 calls between June 12 and June 19. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 6,986 calls for service.

On June 13, Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was dispatched to a report of a stolen 2007 Loadmaster boat trailer (value: $500.00) in the Boothbay area.  The complainant stated that around 7 p.m. the boat trailer was at the Knickercane boat launch and discovered missing around 6 a.m., the next morning.  Further investigating to follow as new leads come forth.

Summonses

Liam D. Dworkin, 19, of Newcastle was issued a summons June 12 for Operating after Suspension, on Main Street, Damariscotta, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.

Evan C. Treanor, 21, of Long Beach, California was issued a summons June 13 for Motor Vehicle Speeding: 30+ MPH over Speed Limit, on Bath Road, Wiscasset, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

Cindy L. Farnsworth, 63, of Newcastle was issued a summons June 15 for Domestic Violence Assault, on Mills Road, Newcastle, by Deputy First Class Brian Collamore.

Arrests

Derrick U. Smith, 29, of Augusta was arrested June 12 on a Lincoln County District Court warrant for Probation Revocation, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wiscasset, where Mr. Smith turned himself in to Deputy Chad Gilbert.

Robert O. Dion, 34, of Lewiston was arrested June 13 for Aggravated Assault, on Oceangate Road, Southport Island, by Deputy Jonathan Colby.

Travis V. Dobson, 32, of Boothbay was arrested June 14 on a Wiscasset District Court warrant for Failure to Appear – Fine Hearing and Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drug, on Back Narrows Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Andrew Miner.

Sonni Labrie, 28, of Nobleboro was arrested June 14 for Violating Condition of Release, at the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Wiscasset, by Detective Scott Hayden.

Ryan A. Doane, 31, of Wiscasset was arrested June 16 for Refusing to Submit to Arrest or Detention, on Clarks Cove Road, South Bristol, by Deputy Chase Bosse, who was assisted by Deputy Kevin Dennison.

Billy R. Monteiro, 32, of Boothbay was arrested June 16 for Domestic Violence Terrorizing, on Ocean Point Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Caleb Poirier.

Jacob Rist, 20, of Phippsburg was arrested June 17 on two Cumberland County warrants for Failure to Appear, on Wiscasset Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Caleb Poirier, who was assisted by Sgt. Mark Bridgham.

Accidents

On June 12, an accident occurred on Main Road on Westport Island involving Charles A. Chapman, 71, of Wiscasset. Mr. Chapman was operating his 2013 Toyota Prius southbound when a deer struck his vehicle. Deputy Andrew Miner was the investigating officer.

On June 12, an accident occurred on Pension Ridge Road involving Samantha M. McLellan, 50, of Boothbay and Annie L. Mackusick, 19, of Boothbay. Ms. McLellan had stopped her 2017 Nissan Rogue at the stop sign on Harwick Road, preparing to go onto Pension Ridge Road and Ms. Mackusick had stopped her 2010 Dodge Avenger behind McLellan’s vehicle. McLellan started to go and stopped for oncoming traffic when Mackusick ran into the rear of McLellan’s vehicle. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.

On June 12, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in Bristol involving Sara D. Wells, 55, of Wilton, CT. Ms. Wells was operating her 2010 Ford Escape southbound when she observed a deer enter the roadway from the northbound ditch and strike the front driver’s side of her vehicle. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On June 13, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Jean E. Blais, 49, of Dresden. Ms. Blais was operating her 2015 Toyota Highlander westbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On June 15, an accident occurred on South Hunts Meadow Road in Whitefield involving Joseph M. Eastman, 42, of Pittston. Mr. Eastman was operating his 2008 Toyota Tundra southbound when a deer entered the roadway from the right side and was struck. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On June 15, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in South Bristol involving Meghan B. Olcott, 24, of Damariscotta. Ms. Olcott was operating her 2003 Subaru Forester southbound when she observed a deer enter the roadway from the northbound ditch and was unable to avoid striking the deer. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On June 15, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Jessica E. Holloway, 39, of Southport Island. Ms. Holloway was operating her 2014 Mazda CX5 northbound when a deer ran out and struck the front of her vehicle. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On June 16, an accident occurred on Patterson Road in Dresden involving Louise E. Yeaton, 70, of Richmond and Robert K. Tukey, 72, of Richmond. Ms. Yeaton was operating her 2009 Dodge Nitro westbound when she came to a flashing stop light, where she stopped and then proceeded into the intersection of Route 197/128. Yeaton did not see Mr. Tukey, who was operating his 2009 Subaru Forester northbound and as a result, Tukey struck Yeaton’s vehicle on the driver’s side. Sgt. Mark Bridgham was the investigating officer.
