Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Five arrests

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 343 calls for service Nov. 5 through Nov. 19. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 15,525 calls for service.

Summons

Alexander V. Hibbard, 18, of Dresden was issued a summons Nov. 16 for Operating Vehicle without License, on McKay Road, Edgecomb, by Deputy First Class Brian Collamore.

Arrests

Jason Ladd, 35, of Wiscasset was arrested Nov. 9 on two Franklin County warrants for Unpaid Fines, on Bath Road, Wiscasset, by Sgt. Jared Mitkus.

Ronnie Russomano, 45, of Winthrop was arrested Nov. 10 for Violating Condition of Release, on Ice Pond Road, Boothbay, by Sgt. Jared Mitkus, who was assisted by Deputy Andrew Miner.

Kayla Smith, 30, of Newcastle was arrested Nov. 13 for Aggravated Assault; Domestic Violence Assault and Assault, on Bunker Hill Road, Newcastle, by Deputy Andrew Miner, who was assisted by Deputy Jonathan Colby.

Caitlyn N. Jennings, 27, of Boothbay was arrested Nov. 14 for Domestic Violence Assault, on West Side Road, Boothbay, by Deputy Caleb Fortin.

James A. Forbis, 36, of Buxton was arrested Nov. 14 for Violating Condition of Release, on Vigue Road, Whitefield, by Det. Sgt. Ronald Rollins.

Accidents

On Nov. 12, an accident occurred on Alna Road in Alna involving Misty A. Brown, 38, of Edgecomb. Ms. Brown was operating her 2007 Toyota Camry southbound when she lost control of her vehicle on the right side, causing her to strike a guardrail and proceeding down over the embankment. Sgt. Matthew Day was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 12, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Andrew T. Call, 52, of Dresden. Mr. Call was operating his 2006 Toyota Tacoma northbound and traveling too fast for the icy road conditions, when he lost control of his vehicle, traveled into the other lane and then off the road, where his vehicle eventually rolled over. Deputy Scott Peterson was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 13, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Edgecomb involving Zacharias M. Rankin, 24, of Wiscasset. Mr. Rankin was operating his 2003 Mazda Protégé northbound when his vehicle began to slide. As a result, he went off the road on the right and struck a tree. His vehicle then went down the embankment and came to rest. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 13, an accident occurred on Middle Road in Dresden involving Peter J. Seymour, 61, of Randolph. Mr. Seymour was operating his 2007 Toyota Camry northbound when a deer entered the roadway from the east side and struck the front driver’s side corner of his vehicle. Deputy Andrew Miner.

On Nov. 13, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Catherine A. Nutt, 66, of Portland. Ms. Nutt was operating her 2019 Jeep northbound when a deer ran across the road and was struck by the front right corner of her vehicle. Deputy Scott Peterson was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 13, an accident occurred on River Road in Boothbay involving Jamie Lee M. Bailey, 37, of Alna. Ms. Bailey was operating her 2008 Saturn Aura southbound when a deer came across the roadway and was struck. Deputy Scott Peterson was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 15, an accident occurred on Goose Hill Road in Jefferson involving Hunter S. Brown, 18, of Union. Mr. Brown was operating his 2006 Pontiac G6 southbound when his vehicle went off the road and entered the southbound ditch. Sgt. Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 15, an accident occurred on Pond Road in Newcastle involving Daryl P. Leeman, 48, of Jefferson. Mr. Leeman was operating his 2016 Freightliner northbound on Pond Road, rounding a curve. Due to black ice on the roadway and the road being unsanded, Leeman lost traction. His vehicle then crossed the centerline and went off the left side of the roadway and into a ditch, where it then rolled over and came to rest on its roof/cargo body. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 15, an accident occurred on State Route 129 in South Bristol involving Madison C. Mardoian, 18, of South Bristol. Ms. Mardoian was operating her 2013 Volkswagen Passat northbound when a deer came from left side. Mardoian saw the deer and applied the brakes (antilock brakes activated), however, the vehicle continued forward due to ice and hit the deer. Deputy Sean Pfahler was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 15, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Hilary D.L. Flagg, 36, of Waldoboro and Jennifer N. Johansen, 32, of Richmond. Ms. Flagg was operating her 2019 Subaru Impreza southbound and Ms. Johansen was traveling southbound behind Flagg’s vehicle in her 2010 Subaru Legacy. Flagg stopped to wait for passing traffic in order to turn left onto Snead Spur and Johansen failed to slow down and impacted Flagg’s vehicle in the rear. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 15, an accident occurred Mills Road in Newcastle involving Christina Cash, 47, of Nobleboro. Ms. Cash was operating her 2013 Nissan Pathfinder northbound when a deer entered the left side of the road and attempted to cross the road in front of her vehicle. As a result, the front passenger corner of her vehicle struck the deer. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 16, an accident occurred on McKay Road in Edgecomb involving Alexander V. Hibbard, 18, of Dresden. Mr. Hibbard was operating his 2002 Jeep Liberty eastbound and due to driver inexperience, he lost control and crossed the center line, before over correcting and going off the right side of the roadway. His vehicle then rolled over and came to rest on its wheels. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 17, an accident occurred on Mills Road in Whitefield involving Glenn M. Lewis, 63, of Waldoboro and Phillip J. Gilbert, 18, of Whitefield. Mr. Lewis was operating his 1985 Toyota Celica eastbound on Rockland Road and Mr. Gilbert was operating his 2002 Ford Escape northbound on Mills Road. Gilbert attempted to cross Rockland Road in front of Lewis’ vehicle and as a result, the front driver corner of Gilbert’s vehicle impacted the rear passenger corner of Lewis’ vehicle. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 17, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Frederick N. Whitehill, 32, of Warren. Mr. Whitehill was operating his 2013 Chevrolet Malibu northbound when a deer came from the left side of his vehicle and was struck. Deputy Sean Pfahler was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 18, an accident occurred on South Clary Road in Jefferson involving Melissa A. Lewandowski, 39, of Jefferson. Ms. Lewandowski was operating his 2016 Jeep Compass northbound when he struck a deer crossing the road, causing damage to the front driver’s corner of his vehicle. Deputy Caleb Poirier was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 18, an accident occurred on Barters Island Road in Boothbay involving Gary D. Lewis, 70, of Boothbay Harbor. Mr. Lewis was operating his 2016 Ford Edge northbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Nov. 18, an accident occurred on Gardiner Road in Dresden involving Alexander V. Copeland, 21, of Waldoboro. Mr. Copeland was operating his 203 Ford Crown Victoria northbound when he lost control of his vehicle on the ice-covered roadway and struck a guardrail. Reserve Deputy Michael Elwell was the investigating officer.
