Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Eight arrests

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 400 calls for service between July 16 and July 23. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 8,537 calls for service.

Arrests

Corey H. Ater, 32, of Phippsburg was arrested July 16 for violating a Protection from Abuse Order and Violating Conditions of Release x 2, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Detective Scott Hayden.

Brandon S. Mitchell, 33, of Bath was arrested July 17 for Violating Condition of Release (Accomplice) and Violating a Protection from Abuse Order (Accomplice), at the Bath Police Department for an incident which took place in Wiscasset, by Detective Scott Hayden.

Courtney N. Burns, 33, of Belfast was arrested July 19 on a Belfast District Court warrant for Failure to Pay Fines and was issued a summons for Failure to Notify Owner of PD Accident, on Washington Road, Jefferson, by Detective Scott Hayden, who was assisted by Deputy Jonathan Colby.

Joseph S. Lane, 35, of Damariscotta was arrested July 19 for Violating Condition of Release, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.

Jeremy Moon, 39, of Guilford, New Hampshire was arrested July 19 on a Lincoln County warrant for Violation of Bail, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Chad Gilbert.

Harley Winchenbach, 26, of Waldoboro was arrested July 19 on a Knox County warrant for Unpaid Fines, at Two Bridges Regional Jail, Wiscasset, by Deputy Andrew Miner.

Corey R. Swenson, 37, of Dresden was arrested July 21 for Burglary, Criminal Mischief and Violating Condition of Release, on Main Street, Whitefield, by Sgt. Jared Mitkus, who was assisted by Sgt. Mark Bridgham.

Marci F. McCutcheon, 36, of Augusta was arrested July 21 for Burglary, Criminal Mischief, Violating Condition of Release and a Probation Violation, on Main Street, Whitefield, by Sgt. Jared Mitkus, who was assisted by Sgt. Mark Bridgham.

Summonses

Erica S. Nightingale, 18, of Edgecomb was issued a summons July 16 for Motor Vehicle Speeding: 30+ MPH over speed limit, on Recreation Pkwy, Nobleboro, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

Damon Peacock, 20, of Woolwich was issued summonses July 17 for Minor Consuming Liquor, Operating While License Suspended or Revoked, Failure to Register Vehicle and Leaving Scene of Motor Vehicle Accident, on Hilton Road, Whitefield, by Deputy Ryan Chubbuck.

Cody J. Devenger, 32, of Boothbay was issued a summons July 20 for Violating Condition of Release, on Dover Road, Boothbay, by Sgt. Jared Mitkus.

Accidents

On July 16, an accident occurred on Pension Ridge Road in Boothbay involving Donald T. McElhinney, 69, of Boothbay. Mr. McElhinney was operating his 2004 Honda Element southbound when he stated he fell asleep and crossed the center line of the roadway and traveled off the roadway on the left side. As a result, the front driver’s corner of his vehicle impacted a CMP pole. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On July 16, an accident occurred on Huddle Road in Bristol involving Issac D. Olson, 18, of Bristol. Mr. Olson was operating his 2007 Nissan Altima southbound when he started to turn into a driveway on the left side. Olson did not slow down enough during the turn to compensate for the dirt and as a result, his vehicle slide into the ditch on the right side. Deputy Sean Pfahler was the investigating office.

On July 16, an accident occurred on River Road in Newcastle involving Olive C. Hart, 93, of Newcastle and Martha A. Violette, 71, of Nobleboro. Ms. Hart was backing her 2018 Chevrolet Equinox out of a parking spot and backed into Ms. Violette’s 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On July 17, an accident occurred on Hilton Road in Whitefield involving Damon Peacock, 21, of Woolwich. Mr. Peacock was operating his 2007 Chevrolet Aveo northbound when he lost control of his vehicle and entered the southbound ditch, striking a stump. Deputy Ryan Chubbuck was the investigating officer.

On July 17, an accident occurred on Bath Road in Wiscasset involving Laura Livingston, 71, of Bootbay Harbor and Christopher E. Hedberg, 40, of Appleton. Ms. Livingston was stopped on Washington Street at the intersection of Bath Road. Mr. Hedberg was operating his 2005 Dodge Caravan southbound when Ms. Livingston attempted to make a left turn, northbound, on Bath Road in front of Hedberg’s vehicle. The front corner of Hedberg’s vehicle impacted the rear driver’s corner of Livingston’s vehicle. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On July 17, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Newcastle involving Christian J. Stebner, 22, of Nobleboro. Mr. Stebner was operating his 2018 American Motors Promaster truck southbound when a deer ran into the roadway and was struck. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On July 18, an accident occurred on McKown Road in Boothbay involving Collin F. Hooley, 27, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Michael E. Reed, 64, of Boothbay. Mr. Hooley was pulling his 2019 Kia Soul out of McKown Road onto Ocean Point Road and Mr. Reed was operating his 2011 Nissan Frontier eastbound on Ocean Point Road. Hooley did not see Reed’s vehicle and as a result, the vehicles collided. Sgt. Alan Shea was the investigating officer.

On July 19, an accident occurred on Wiscasset Road in Boothbay involving Leslie B. Gaffin, 75, of Boston, Massachusetts and Leigh F. Reinecke, 68, of Boothbay Harbor. Mr. Reinecke was operating his 2014 Ford F-150 northbound behind Ms. Gaffin’s 2015 Lexus. Gaffin slowed due to a vehicle ahead of her turning left. Reinecke did not see Gaffin slowing down until he struck the rear of her vehicle. Reinecke admitted to have been looking out his driver’s side window at the time of the crash. Deputy Sean Pfahler was the investigating officer.

On July 19, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Nobleboro involving Macy F. Dinsmore, 26, of Hope. Ms. Dinsmore was operating her 2010 Toyota Matrix northbound when a deer crossed the roadway in front of her and the front passenger corner of her vehicle struck the deer. Deputy David Bellows was the investigating officer.

On July 20, an accident occurred on River Road in Edgecomb involving Chloe Ewalt, 67, of Prince Frederick, Maryland. Ms. Ewalt was operating her 2017 Toyota Sequoia northbound when she stated she fell asleep and noticed she was off the road when she awoke and over corrected, however, her vehicle continued into the ditch. Deputy Sean Pfahler was the investigating officer.

On July 21, an accident occurred on US Route 1 in Edgecomb involving Glen T. Craig, 57, of Wiscasset and Margaret Caplow, 68, of Earlysville, Virginia. Mr. Craig was operating his 2018 Ford F-150 northbound, across the Wiscasset Bridge. Ms. Caplow was operating her 2006 Mercedes-Benz southbound on the Wiscasset Bridge, when she fell asleep, crossed the center line and struck Mr. Craig’s vehicle, causing minor damage. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.

On July 21, an accident occurred on Center Street in Nobleboro involving Martin E. Arnold, 20, of Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Arnold was operating his 2017 Mazda westbound when he drove onto the westbound shoulder and struck a mailbox. Arnold then over corrected, drove off the roadway and struck some small trees. Deputy Chad Gilbert was the investigating officer.
