Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office: Eight accidents

Sheriff Todd Brackett reports the following:

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to 289 calls for service between Jan. 29 and Feb. 5. Year to date, LCSO has responded to 1,829 calls for service.

Arrest

Tyler Geyer, 30, of Bristol was arrested Feb. 2 for Violating Condition of Release, on Dirt Road, Bristol, by Deputy Kevin Dennison.

Accidents

On Jan. 30, an accident occurred on Cross Road in Edgecomb involving Sofia E. Rankin, 45, of Edgecomb. Ms. Rankin was operating her 2015 Jeep Patriot northbound and was attempting to turn right onto Cross Road, when she slid into a pole, causing front driver’s corner damage. Deputy Alonzo Connor was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 30, an accident occurred on Bristol Road in Bristol involving Lisa M. Benner, 55, of Bristol. Ms. Benner was operating her 2004 Chevrolet Colorado northbound and due to an icy spot in the road, she lost control of her vehicle, went across the southbound travel lane and off the road. Her vehicle then struck a mailbox and wood post, before striking some large rocks and a CMP pole. The impact of her vehicle hitting the pole, caused a service line to a residence to become dislodged. No damage was done to the pole. Deputy First Class Brian Collamore was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 30, an accident occurred on Cooper Road in Whitefield involving George L. King, 50, of Whitefield. Mr. King was operating his 2006 Chevrolet Silverado southbound when he lost control of his vehicle. As a result, his vehicle left the roadway on the right side, where he then over corrected and crossed the center line. The front of his vehicle hit the guardrail and slid down the north travel lane, where it hit the guardrail a second time with the rear of his truck, where it then came to a final rest facing northbound. Deputy Chase Bosse was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 30, an accident occurred on Hunts Meadow Road in Whitefield involving Galen S. Belden, 30, of Liberty. Mr. Belden was operating his 2009 Subaru Impreza northbound and a tree had fallen across the road, completely blocking the road. As a result, Mr. Belden skidded into the ditch and struck the tree. Deputy Jonathan Colby was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 31, an accident occurred on Augusta Road in Jefferson involving Kelly A. Walker, 38, of Jefferson. Ms. Walker was operating her 2006 Subaru Outback westbound and turning right onto Augusta Road at the intersection of Bunker Hill Road, when she lost control due to icy road conditions and went off the left side of the roadway and into an unplowed access road. Her vehicle then swiped a tree on the right side of her vehicle before coming to a stop. Lt. Michael Murphy was the investigating officer.

On Jan. 31, an accident occurred on Center Street in Nobleboro involving Susan Smith, 70, of Nobleboro and Jessica L. Taylor, 36, of Nobleboro. Ms. Smith was backing her 2012 Toyota Tundra out of a parking spot at the Nobleboro Post Office and back into the front of Ms. Taylor’s 2010 Nissan Altima, causing damage to the front bumper of Taylor’s vehicle and no damage to her vehicle. Sgt. Aaron Beck was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 2, an accident occurred on East Pond Road in Nobleboro involving Robert M. Lane, 71, of Jefferson. Mr. Lane was operating his 2005 Ford F-150 southbound when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the roadway on the right side, entered a ditch and hit a tree, where he came to final rest. Deputy Alonzo Connor was the investigating officer.

On Feb. 3, an accident occurred on Bunker Hill Road in Newcastle involving Brian P. Sutherland, 36, of Newcastle. Mr. Sutherland was operating his 2004 Ford F-150 northbound when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the southbound lane. His vehicle then entered the southbound ditch, struck a tree and rolled onto the passenger’s side. Deputy Kevin Dennison was the investigating officer.
