After 23 years, the word is out that the Rotary Club of Boothbay Harbor’s annual Soup Bowl Supper is both a good time and a good meal. On April 11, over 220 diners packed the Boothbay American Legion Hall and ate a variety of soups and chilis along with delicious salads and desserts at the 23rd annual event. Diners paid $15 for the meal and ceramic bowl made by the Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts who along with the Rotary is an original sponsor.

In 2018, Rebuilding Together became a third sponsor. Rotary and Rebuilding Together volunteers organized the event and provided soups and chilis served in specially created Watershed Center ceramic bowls. It didn’t take long before all 160 bowls were gone. Diners arrived at 5:30 p.m. and after a few minutes the special bowls were all sold. Rebuilding  Together and Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts  received a portion of the event’s proceeds.

On May 11, Rebuilding Together Lincoln County will assemble a volunteer army of volunteers skilled, semi-skilled, and without specific skills to work on a home selected to receive services. Work projects include urgent repairs needed for keeping residents warm during the cold winter months such as  adding insulation, replacing storm doors, caulking windows and wrapping pipes.

The Watershed Center offers  experiences for artists who create with clay. Artists live and work at Watershed for two-, three-, or six-week sessions, creating a unique community during each residency. Through residencies, workshops, educational initiatives, extensive kiln facilities, artist talks and public events, Watershed serves the local, national and international clay community.
