“Gentlemen (and ladies), start your engines!”

Local kids of all ages are invited to Boothbay Baptist Church for its annual FASCAR car racing event on Thursday, Sept. 19, 5:45-8 p.m. downstairs in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

Kids can bring their own favorite Matchbox or Hot Wheels car, or borrow one from the church, and race them on the FASCAR electronic race track.  There is always a lot of excitement during the races, culminating with prizes and awards.  Healthy snacks will be provided.

The event is free and is the kickoff for the church’s youth group which uses the Word of Life Olympian program. Olympians is for elementary-aged students and will start the next Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m., meeting weekly every Thursday following the school year calendar. A teen youth group will also be starting up and details will be announced.

Parents are welcome to come and stay to hear about the youth group program and meet the coaches, and even race a car if they wish!
