Keep Holly Stover serving us

Mon, 10/05/2020 - 3:00pm

    Dear Editor:

Since I moved to Boothbay Harbor three years ago, it seems that I run into Holly Stover everywhere — nonprofit meetings and fundraisers, educational events, informal and formal gatherings of joy and grief. As our District 89 representative, Holly takes every opportunity to listen to us our concerns and take them back to Augusta to write bills, serve on committees, and speak up and vote on the issues we care about.

I came to Maine from a state where it seemed that many of our representatives, once elected, seemed to lose sight of their constituents’ priorities when they took their seat in the house. Holly is the antithesis of that public servant. Moreover, with her career background in mental health, she is not afraid to tackle the big, uncomfortable issues like domestic violence or opioid addiction. And she does so not only with passion but knowledge grounded in a public health paradigm which is so desperately needed right now.

I urge you to reelect Holly Stover as our District 89 representative so she can to continue to build on the outstanding record of service she displayed in her freshman term in the house.

I am so proud to tell people that Holly Stover represents me in the Maine House of Representatives. Let’s send her back to keep fighting the good/hard fight for us.

    Marion Coleman

    Boothbay Harbor
