Jazz night with Brad Terry and Peter Herman
Renowned clarinetist Brad Terry will kick off the Chocolate Church Arts Center’s (CCAC) 2018 Kill The Chill Winter Concert Series on Saturday, Jan. 20. Terry will be joined by guitarist Peter Herman in the Chocolate Church annex for this jazz instrumental concert that begins at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7.
“I have been playing this wonderful American music called ‘jazz’ ever since my neighbor Benny Goodman convinced my mother to buy me a clarinet when I was 14,” said Bath resident Brad Terry. “I’ve been lucky to have known and be challenged by, played and recorded with some of the world’s greatest jazz players and now, at 80 I’m being challenged again by the talented Peter Herman.”
This duo will play a variety of standard jazz tunes and spontaneously create musical conversations that transport the audience to a surprising and unlikely musical place. Terry has known these tunes for 50-60 years but Herman brings with him a flood of new and refreshing harmonic and melodic ideas.
Tickets for this show are $12 advance and $15 at the door and available by calling 207-442-8455 or purchase online www.chocolatechurcharts.org.
The CCAC and annex are located at 804 Washington Street, Bath.
