Iris sale Aug. 6 in Edgecomb

Sat, 07/30/2022 - 8:00am

For many years Louise Hardina held an annual iris sale in Edgecomb to help fund a community lunch. It has been five years since she needed to downsize her gardens which once totaled 140 varieties. Most of her irises were sold, and about 25 varieties remain. Now it is time to split the rhizomes and once again have a sale.

The irises will be on sale Saturday, Aug. 6 in the lower level of the Edgecomb Church on Cross Point Road in Edgecomb. The sale will be from 9 a.m. until noon or earlier if the irises sell out. There will be nearly a dozen varieties to choose from, some in very limited quantity. They will be priced at $7 per pot. Plants will have pictures and care instructions and most will have names.

All proceeds from this sale will help fund community outreach at the Edgecomb Community Church.
