Help fund BRHS Project Graduation

Mon, 12/14/2020 - 2:30pm

Dear Editor:

The 2021 Boothbay Region High School senior class has had a slow start but is now concentrating on raising funds for a Project Graduation trip this coming June. The class and parents are optimistic and have decided to go ahead and plan for a full graduation. They have tentative plans to venture up to Millinocket for two days of safe graduation celebrations at New England Outdoor Adventure Center. The Project Graduation committee has also discussed a plan B if things with the virus are not good by June 2021.

Currently we have a few fundraisers happening. Collection bins are located at Janson’s, Grover’s, House of Pizza, Baker’s Way, Boothbay Region Greenhouses, Pinkham’s Seafood, Orne’s Candy Store, Harbor Embroidery, Maine and Ivy, Coastal Maine Popcorn and Good ’N You. If you see the donation container while out and about shopping locally, please contribute. We also have the Project Grad bottle bin located at the lower parking lot of the high school. We will try to do some bake sales but are limited with new rules and regulations about gatherings.

This year’s class has forfeited many classic high school events. They lost their Junior Prom and Senior Homecoming. They will miss out on the ever popular fundraiser of the 50/50 sale at home basketball games and bake sales for the Garden’s Aglow event. They also lost a large amount at the Fishin’ for Fashion fundraiser last summer and the ever popular Ghost Train.

If you would like to contribute to the cause, you can send a check in the mail made out to Project Graduation 2021 and mailed to P. O. Box 562 Boothbay, ME 04537. You can also make a donation with this link: https://gf.me/u/y8j2sj

Thank you for your support.
