Mon, 07/20/2020 - 8:00am

Healthy Kids is offering COVID-safe summer activities for parents and children of all ages in order to get out, explore and play with others. July 23, the families will walk Dodge Point trail in Newcastle and August 6, all will gather at Barrett’s Park in Boothbay Harbor. All events are from 10 a.m. to noon and registration is required as space is limited. Call 563-1818 or log onto www.healthykidsmaine.org to register. All events are free and a healthy snack will be provided.

Parenting classes for parents of kids 0-5 are being offered through Zoom to help support parents during this difficult time. Classes can be tailored to individuals or be done in a group. Information regarding parenting styles, communicating with your child, discipline and encouraging positive behavior and getting kids ready for school are all covered. If you would like to have a personal learning time or join a class, call Mindy at 563-1818. All classes are free.

Zoom parenting support groups are also being set up to help parents realize they are not alone, feel “normal,” express their feelings and get support and advice from other parents. Groups can be general in nature, or specific to a particular situation. If you would like to join a group or request that a specific group be started, call Mindy at 563-1818.
