Dear Editor:

I would like to say how wonderful it is to see and experience the many functional and attractive improvements that have happened in the Boothbay Common area.

The roundabout works well and really helps traffic flow. The new ambulance facility is essential and serves the entire community and is now more important than ever for the health and safety of every one in the region. The landscaping currently underway on the Common will enhance both its function and long lasting beauty.

All this together with the country club entrance provides a greatly improved welcome to our community of towns. This has long lasting benefits for every single business as well as every real estate owner, citizen and stakeholder in the region. The forward thinking and teamwork of generous private citizens, such as Paul Coulombe, and public entities that have contributed to make this all happen at negligible taxpayer expense is to be congratulated and should serve as an example of what can happen when people work together.
