Gracious assistance
Dear Editor:
On Saturday, Oct. 9, I was towing a small boat around the fish hatchery to Blake’s Boatyard, when “crunch,” I ran onto a rock in the middle of the channel.
I struggled to push off using a paddle, but succeeded only in breaking the paddle. A couple saw me struggling and came to my rescue, getting me off the rock and then preventing me from blowing into shore. After I got underway again, they offered to (and did) follow me until I was safely in the boatyard.
Alas, I don't know their names but would like them to know I am infinitely and eternally grateful for their most gracious assistance.
