Dear Editor:

I want to acknowledge the superb job Ms. Kathleen Pearce has performed for the past eight years as AOS 98’s finance director. She will begin working in a similar position at the Boothbay Harbor Town Office next week.

Each year, Kathleen expertly prepared six budgets for the towns and schools of the AOS. Additionally, she conscientiously handled the myriad of human resource functions for almost 200 school district employees. She was tireless ensuring our state-mandated audits document that we are financially sound and professionally managing combined budgets of $17 million.

We are going to miss her “can-do” attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure our office runs smoothly and effectively. Boothbay Harbor is getting a top-notch finance director and we wish her all the best in her new job.
