It was a sold out show at the Opera House when Joan Osborne came to town on July 8. After opening act Brian Dunne performed and Joan took the stage for her show, she was surprised with a birthday cake, baked by Susan Brackett. On May 20, Sarah P. Sample received her master's of science degree in education from the University of New England. A graduate of Boothbay Region High School, Sarah earned her associate's degree in early childhood education from Hesser College and went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Maine at Farmington with a bachelor of science in education. Graduating UNE with a GPA of 4.0 fulfilled a lifelong goal for Sarah as she continues her work towards educational excellence.
