Genevieve L. (Wallace) Earle passed away peacefully at home on the evening of Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021; she was 94 years old.

Genevieve was born in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, on Christmas Eve 1926, the daughter of the late Erville J. and Ethel M. (Gilman) Wallace. She spent her childhood along the coast in Boothbay Harbor. Genevieve graduated from Boothbay Harbor High School where she was named valedictorian of the Class of 1944. She then continued her studies at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, where in 1948 she was awarded her bachelor’s degree in education. For several years she taught English and Latin at Lisbon High School in Lisbon, Maine prior to relocating with her husband, C. Brewster ”Bruce” Earle, in 1957 to Northborough, Massachusetts. Genevieve taught for many years at the Northborough Middle School where she was beloved by students and peers alike.

Together Genevieve and Bruce were longtime active members of Trinity Church in Northborough as well as Northborough’s Historical Society. They found enjoyment as members of Worcester’s Dance Club and participating in the local activities in Northborough. Genevieve was also a regular volunteer at the polls on voting day.

In later years Genevieve enjoyed summering at her childhood home in Boothbay Harbor. She loved her family and looked forward to keeping up with the grandchildren’s schedules and activities.

Genevieve is survived by her three children, Donald Earle and his wife Deborah of Hampton, New Hampshire, Nancy Lapierre of Wells, Maine and Richard Earle and his wife Penny of Grafton, Massachusetts. She also leaves five grandchildren whom she loved, Emily Earle, Caroline Earle Ivens, Cody Lapierre, Sadie Lapierre Ernst and Ben Earle, as well as one great-grandson, Cooper Ivens.

She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Bruce, her brothers Robert L. and Richard C. Wallace and her son-in-law Jody Lapierre.

Genevieve was laid to rest beside Bruce in Howard Street Cemetery in Northborough after a private graveside service. Once a date has been set, an announcement will be provided for family and friends to gather for a memorial service and celebration of Genevieve’s life.
