First National Bank recently presented Good Shepherd Food Bank with a check for $17,500.

Since 2016, as part of a three year capital campaign, First National Bank’s donations have contributed to the renovations of Good Shepherd Food Bank’s Hampden food storage and distribution center. This facility allows Good Shepherd to provide year-round access to local produce, dairy, meat and seafood products to families struggling with hunger in northern, eastern and central Maine.

“As a native of Eastport, Maine, I know that food insecurity is a problem that persists broadly across the state and especially in our northern and eastern most counties,” said Tony McKim, president and CEO of First National Bank. “We are all aware of the importance of access to healthy food is to address health issues of our society. I am proud that First National Bank is supporting the infrastructure necessary to provide nutritious, locally sourced food to our neighbors in need.”
