This fall you can take the WW&F’s historic narrow gauge rails to a broad selection of events and activities that promise something for everyone.
This Saturday, Sept. 30, we’ll be kickin’ off the first of four consecutive Saturdays of Pumpkin Pickin’ Trains to SeaLyon Farm. The train will take you right to the veteran owned and operated farm, where hayrides, snacks, food, games and, of course, pumpkins await. Multiple train departures each day mean it is easy to plan around nap times and busy schedules. The train elevates the quintessential Fall activity to a memorable family activity you are sure to love.
Meanwhile, other fall activities await your discovery at the Railway. On Sunday, Oct. 1, ride the Rails to one of Midcoast’s most unique concert venues, the Pavilion at Alna Center Station for an afternoon of music featuring Maine-based musicians Lauren Crosby, Jenny Lou Drew and Darby Sabin.
There will also be Ride the Rails to Hike the Trails on Sept. 30, featuring a guided hike at Trout Brook Preserve with a guide from Midcoast Conservancy and a Sunday Mixed Train on Oct. 1 for those interested in local and railway history. For those who enjoy sightseeing and the fall foliage, the novel perspective of a steam train lends itself to a particularly timeless experience.
No matter which train you choose - the important thing is to get on and get your tickets, which are available at wwfry.org.
