Get ready to celebrate in a big way ... Earth Day Fest is back at BHML! Don your most earth-friendly mask and join us for an afternoon of fun in the sun on the library lawn.
Earth Day Fest is Saturday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. outside on the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library front lawn. There will be plenty of space to socially distance, but for Earth Day Fest, we’ll call it fresh air space! Prizes will be awarded for best earth-themed face masks.
BHML will be joined by co-sponsors Boothbay Sea and Science Center, Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Lincoln County Gleaners, Maine Community Solar, Merrymeeting Audubon, The Maine Monitor and Plastic Free Peninsula. Our co-sponsors will be spread out on the lawn and ready to fill you in on how their organizations align with celebrating our amazing planet. Some of them are also bringing craft projects and even take-home vegetable plants for your own garden!
Stop by our used (or should we say re-used!) book sale brought to you by the Friends of the Library. There will be loads of great, previously-read books ready to be read again ... by you.
The library will have a super special take-home art project for all of our young (and young at heart) Earth Day Fest-ers. Grab a bag full of supplies to make an Earth-centered masterpiece at home, then bring your work of art back to the library to be displayed in our E(art)h Gallery. The gallery grand opening is Saturday, June 5, to coincide with the Library’s Plant Sale back on for this year! Look out for more information about our Plant Sale coming soon.
Please note there is no rain date for this event! We will post any severe weather-related updates through our Facebook page and on our website.
We are very excited to see you all in-person soon at Earth Day Fest 2021!
