Down East Yacht Club

Annual meeting held Aug. 24
Mon, 09/09/2019 - 9:00am

Saturday, Aug. 24 was the date for the DEYC annual meeting, which is held yearly at the Tugboat Inn in Boothbay Harbor, our DEYC headquarters. This is the time for the changing of the guard and completing club business for the year. Before the open meeting, Commodore Steve Arkley called his final board meeting. The Tugboat Inn provided sustenance in the form of muffins, cinnamon rolls and coffee.

Commodore Arkley completed his term in office by conducting an inclusive and important open meeting, concluding another successful year. We are all thankful to Steve for his astute leadership, resolute loyalty and committed approach to improving our wonderful fun club. Thank you Commodore Arkley.

The slate of business began with reassuring reports from the officers. Committee chairs presented reports that were equally optimistic. It is obvious that the DEYC is absolutely in good standing. Old and new business items were routinely discussed by the membership.

The leadership will be the responsibility of the new DEYC Bridge and Board of Directors for the 2019-20 term. The officers and board members were sworn in by Past Commodore Susan Pope.
