The Annual Christmas Fair of the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor will take place in the Fellowship Hall from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 7. Its Waffle Supreme Breakfast, from 8-10 a.m., will feature Belgian waffles made to order, loaded with your choice of fruit and garnished with whipped cream and/or syrup, if desired. The fair itself will begin at 9:00 and run to 1:00.
We look forward to seeing you all on the morning of December 7th at the Congregational Church of Boothbay Harbor, located at the corner of Townsend and Eastern avenues. Ample parking is available in the parking lot behind the church and in the lot across Eastern Avenue. Everyone is welcome! Mt. View Chamber Singers! At 7 p.m. on Dec. 7, the Mt. View Chamber Singers will present their Candlelight Concert in the Round in the sanctuary of the Congregational Church, as they have done for several years at this festive time of year. The chorus comes from Mt. View High School in Thorndike, Maine, and Boothbay Harbor is one of 26 concerts planned for the Christmas season. Free, but donations for the singing group are gratefully accepted.
Sheepscot Valley Chorus. Beautiful music will continue in the church’s sanctuary at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8 with the annual Christmas concert of the Sheepscot Valley Chorus. The main piece will be Felix Mendelssohn’s “Magnificat in D,” written when the composer was 13 years old. Even at that young age, Mendelssohn demonstrated a grasp of musical forms which put him in the same rank as Mozart and Haydn. The concert also will include a delightful selection of holiday pieces, featuring soprano soloist Mary Sullivan as a special guest. Tickets are $15 for adults and are free for students.
