We conclude our final worship series of our interim ministry together with four New Testament stories that help us imagine new possibilities that we might discover on our new way home.

The Journey Home is a powerful theme in scripture. The stories of homecoming a reminder that we often find our way home in indirect and unexpected ways. A reminder that it is impossible to return home the same way we left. This summer in our worship series, “A New Way Home” we’ll be looking at some of these stories of homecoming and wondering how they speak with courage and compassion, as guides and reminders for our own homecoming journeys this season into a new chapter in our own lives and the life of the church.

Sunday, Sept. 26, we’ll celebrate our ministry together these past 20 months with Rev. Peter Ilgenfritz, as we look back to what we have learned and forward in wonder, hopefulness and prayer to what is before our community of faith as we begin a new chapter of life together as church. We will explore Mark 5:1-20, “Saying Goodbye.” The Boat story concludes-The Call to “Go and Tell Your Friends.” God be with you till we meet again. “And as Jesus was getting in the boat, the man who had been possessed by demons begged him that he might be with him. But he refused, and said to him, ‘Go home to your friends, and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you.’” (Mark 5:18-19)
