Community conservation film at the Harbor Theater
Join the Boothbay Region Land Trust (BRLT) at the Harbor Theater to participate in a “Community Conversation: Finding the Balance Between Nature and Culture” on Tuesday, May 22, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
This new documentary, created by Emmy Award winning film maker Mark Ireland, features four Maine land trusts over the course of four seasons, demonstrating their efforts toward conservation for all members of their community.
The beauty of Maine — from coast to mountains, farmland to deep forests — is richly captured in this film. Hikers, kayakers, immigrant farmers, kids, fishing guides, balsam tree-tippers, canoe-builders and more, tell the stories of local communities finding balance in nature. At its deepest level, community conservation seeks to address the traditions and needs of all community members, providing access to preserved lands and creating projects that build constituencies across diverse communities.
Following the film, representatives from BRLT will lead a discussion and Q&A session. This event is free.
The Harbor Theater is located at 185 Townsend Ave. in Boothbay Harbor.
