Dear Editor:

The Boothbay Opera House Open Mic is one of the most fun events in Boothbay Harbor. The open mic is an event that lets people play music on any instrument and be able to show people what they can do. People range from small town people having fun to professionals trying to get some their songs out there.

Everyone there just wants to have a good time. It’s a very relaxed tone through the whole event. People just show up to have a laugh and listen to some of the hidden talent that lives in the Boothbay region.

If you want to see some of the talent, stop by and have a drink and enjoy the performances. There is usually a wide range of talent, some people can sing, some play the piano, some play the guitar, some even play the accordion.

You can also sign up at the event to play a song if you wish. I will be walking around with a sign-up sheet with the names of the people that want to perform.

There are more shows on Feb. 1 and March 1 if you want to stop in and watch some people perform. There are also flyers all around Boothbay Harbor if your interested.

Donations to the Opera house are highly appreciated.
