Come to the BHML plant sale

Mon, 05/10/2021 - 2:00pm

    Dear Editor:

Hurrah, Hurrah. The Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library is having its fabulous plant sale again on June 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a big fundraiser for the library and it is a popular sale. No one will be admitted to purchase until opening at 9 a.m. — no early birds.

We are requesting anyone who is dividing their plants to pot up a few for the library sale. Please remember to label them so we know (most of us recognize plants, but for example, day lilies come in many colors)  what it is. If you know add the botanical name but not necessary. Plants will be accepted at the library all day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 4. Please do not drop off plants at the library before June; There is no room to store them and they must be watered and cared for, etc.

There will be lots of wonderful plants, perennials, herbs, vegetables, maybe a few annuals, and shrubs.

In addition there will be an online silent auction beginning hopefully by May 24, May 26 at the latest, and ending June 5 the day of the sale with such items as gardening supplies, experiences for the whole family, memberships to various non-profits, art, tours, sailing, and more.

So support your library and come to the sale. For questions contact Bonnie Ginger at 633-4203.
