Wiscasset Village galleries are hung with stunning art. The boutique shops are stocked with carefully chosen items for home and self. Restaurants and specialty food shops beckon with tasty delights. Music is woven through the Village. And yet, there’s more! A colorful and compelling community presence greets visitors who stroll the sidewalks during the Wiscasset Art Walk on Thursday, July 25, 5-8pm.

Garden Club of Wiscasset members once again cull their gardens for the best blooms to sell at WAW. (This fundraiser allows GCW to care for the many small public gardens throughout the Village.) They are joined by members of the Wiscasset Congregational Church and their annual Photo Booth where ordinary people become extraordinary in boas, cowboy hats, and other silly paraphernalia.

Representatives from New Hope for Women tell the tales of women crushed by violence who find their strength and healing with art and stories. And nearby, Lincoln County Historical Association members tell stories of another kind – of the history of the people and places that formed the community we know as Wiscasset.

To accompany these – and more – community presentations, the Pop-up Bistro on Middle St. makes an appearance this month with the very freshest bivalves from O’Oysters, the tastiest thin-crust wood-fired pizza from Blazing Tomato, and a step back into childhood with Scrummy Afters Candy Shoppe on wheels! It’s a night to refresh the soul and rekindle the spirit!

Wiscasset Art Walks are held on the last Thursday of the summer months. Participant sites are marked with colorful streamers and touring maps are available throughout the Village. Lead
