Colleen McGarry and Mike Leonard were married in the early evening on Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Boothbay Harbor Inn.

Leonard, of Yarmouth, Maine, and McGarry, of Oak Lawn, Illinois, met nearly 10 years ago at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon – she was visiting with some friends and he was there just after having attended Photoshop World in Las Vegas with his father. They exchanged contact info and stayed in touch. Then, a few years later, Colleen was in the market for a new camera and reached out to Mike for advice and shortly after making the purchase of a new camera, she came to Maine for a long weekend to photograph Acadia in the winter with Mike. They hit it off in the park and became “significant others” and stayed that way until just until about a year ago when they again were in Acadia when Mike asked the question to which Colleen said “Yes!”

Colleen and Mike celebrated two weddings – one in Boothbay Harbor and one in Oak Lawn in Illinois on Sept. 1 for the benefit of friends and family who were not able to attend Maine.
