Christmas schedule at Boothbay Baptist

    “O come, O come, Emmanuel” ... Emmanuel means “God with us.” Celebrate with us the God who came to be with us, when “the trajectories of infinity and infancy intersected” (David Jeremiah) that holy night in Bethlehem.

    Boothbay Baptist Church, located on the Boothbay Common, welcomes you to worship on Sundays at 10:15 a.m., with Rev. Dr. Steven Nash preaching a series on Advent through Christmas. Nursery care is available.

    Sunday School classes are offered for all ages at 9-10 a.m. on Sundays , and the Olympian youth group for kids in grades 1-6 meets Thursday evenings, 5:45-7, following the public school calendar. The weekly Praise & Prayer (singing, Bible study, prayer and fellowship) meets Wednesday evenings at 6:30 in the parsonage.

    The schedule of holiday events at the church is as follows:

    Friday and Saturday, Dec.6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21, 5-8 p.m.−A Live Nativity at the church with a warming fire.

    Saturday, Dec. 7, 9 a.m. –Ladies’ Christmas Breakfast and gift swap. Please sign up at church or call Cindy in the office to indicate how many will attend.

    Friday, Dec.13, 6-6:30 p.m.−A Live Nativity and a Christmas Carol sing along. Join us in singing carols and hymns while being warmed by the fire and enjoying hot chocolate and Christmas cookies.

    Thursday, Dec. 19, 10 a.m. –Christmas Basket filling and delivery to local first responders (fire, ambulance, police, et al.). Members, please bring homemade baked goods, candies, cards, etc., and come join in our annual basket-making to bless our local public servants.

    Thursday, Dec. 19, 6 p.m. –The Word of Life Olympians youth group will meet at St. Andrews Gregory Wing to sing Christmas carols.Parents and others are welcome to join.

    Tuesday, Dec. 24, 6:30 p.m. –Christmas Eve candlelight service.

    Tuesday, Dec. 31, 6:30 p.m.–New Year’s Eve service.
