Harbor Theater’s first drive-in movie of the season will be “Jurassic Park,” showing Saturday, May 15 in the Meadow Mall parking lot. Cartoons start shortly after 8 p.m. and the feature film will begin at dusk (8:30 p.m.) This is a free community event, open to all. The movie is rated PG-13 and runs 2 hours 6 minutes. Sponsors for the movie are the towns of Boothbay and Southport; Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club, and a generous anonymous donor.
At this movie, Harbor Theater will host Prom Under the Stars, a celebration of the BRHS Class of 2021, organized by the Class of 2022. The first two parking rows (22 cars) will be designated for students from the junior and senior classes. Please arrive at 7:45 p.m. to find your space.
Freshmen, sophomores, and their families, as well as all members of the community, are invited to join in the festivities and fill in the additional 50 car spaces available. Please come at 8 p.m. to find your spot.
Since the annual Prom Night for the junior and senior classes at Boothbay Region High School was canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions, the junior class has organized Prom Under the Stars. The event is also a fundraiser for the juniors and their own Prom Night in 2022. They will be selling popcorn, candy, and soda on the sidewalk in front of the Harbor Theater. Donations will also be gratefully received. Please practice social distancing when lining up to buy food.
Come relive the awe and terror of this all-time favorite movie. Who can forget paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) being chased around an island theme park by dinosaurs created from prehistoric DNA? While the park's mastermind, billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), assures everyone that the facility is safe, they find out otherwise when various ferocious predators break free and go on the hunt.
Restrooms will be available at the Harbor Theater. No more than two people in the theater at a time. Please wear masks when you enter the theater. No congregating outside. Please stay in your cars unless buying concessions or using the restrooms.
