BRHS girls lacrosse wins tournament

The Boothbay Region High School girls lacrosse team concluded its season on Saturday, June 5 with a first place finish at the Mariner Mayhem lacrosse tournament hosted by Oceanside High School.

The Seahawks were 2-0-1 in the tournament which included Oceanside, Winslow and Hampden Academy. Cortney Meader was high scorer in the tournament with 11 goals, Emily Echols had four goals, and Emilie Crocker, Meghan Leeman and Mara Gentry each had a goal. Meg Sledge had 13 saves in goal and was helped by a strong defensive effort in front of her by Jordan Chamness, Journey Bennett, Mara Gentry and Veda Harriman.

Boothbay finished the season 4-1-1 and avenged their season opening loss to Morse High School with a 6-4 victory on June 2.
