Boothbay Region High School administrators and staff are optimistic seniors will have a traditional graduation, said Principal Tricia Campbell.

But opportunities for fundraising toward graduation have been few due to the pandemic, Campbell said. So BRHS is giving the community the chance to “Sponsor a Senior” to help fund the $10,000 it will cost to hold graduation.

“The Boothbay Region has wrapped their hearts around our student leaders as they experience a senior year like none before,” said Campbell.

Along with the fundraising students have been able to do, the Class of 1967 pitched in its remaining class account balance to the Class of 2021. After all efforts so far, seniors still need to come up with $3,500 to hold graduation. At $200 per student, that works out to be 18 more donations.

“Our students have made us proud as they have looked to the positive and sought out opportunities to celebrate community and school spirit. The senior class have to worked to raise money to cover their graduation class, but they still need help.

“The Boothbay Region is an incredibly special community. We celebrate our history while inviting opportunities to welcome the future. Let’s celebrate the brightest parts of our future, our children! BRHS is asking the community to help send off its seniors this year. To sponsor a senior in the Class of 2021, checks can be made out to BRHS, with the memo “Sponsor a Senior,” and mailed to:Boothbay Region High School, 236 Townsend Ave., Boothbay Harbor, ME 04538
