Dear Editor:

I would like to give a shout out to Jen Jones and Brady’s Restaurant for hosting the upcoming “Meet the Candidates” evenings from 5:30 to 7 on each of the four Wednesdays prior to the election on May 3. What a wonderful way to meet the candidates up close and personal, to get to know them better and to ask the hard questions. Healthy elections depend on voters who are informed and independent. Endorsements are always nice to have but are no replacement for face time with the candidates. Each voter must personally decide the best candidate(s) for themselves --- well vetted candidates lead to better choices!

So please mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 10 to meet Mike Tomko, for Wednesday, April 17 to meet Rosemary Bourette, for Wednesday, April 24 to meet me and for Wednesday, May 1 to meet Tom Minerich.

Let’s encourage a good turnout for each of the candidates and make these events meaningful and successful. We won’t have another opportunity to do this.
