Boothbay Region Lions Club

Mon, 10/18/2021 - 10:00am

The Boothbay Region Lions Club met for a regular meeting on Oct. 13. We were pleased to welcome another prospective new member, making two this year.  It is wonderful to look forward to new faces and fresh ideas.

We agreed to send a donation to the Iris Network, which assists the visually impaired throughout the country.

Our booth at the Fall Foliage Festival on Oct. 9 was well received. Lion Jay’s famous fish chowder raised a substantial sum to add to our Eyeglass Fund. Thanks to Jay and his daughter Alexandra for manning the booth.

Tickets are now available for our Christmas raffle. We will again be raffling off a “Gnome Tree” dressed up with $300 worth of lottery tickets. Tickets are available from any Lions member, Craig Balsdon at EMS dispatch, Stacy Peters at Lincoln Health, or Dr. Andrews’ dental office.  The drawing will be held on Dec. 23.

Our next meeting will be Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. at the East Boothbay Fire Station. A meal will be provided.

Please see our Facebook page for more information.
