Boothbay Region Lions Club

Mon, 07/19/2021 - 11:15am

The Boothbay Region Lions Club met for a regular meeting on July 14.

Lion Karen Nickerson, who is now 2nd Vice District Governor for District 41, performed the induction of new officers for this coming year.

Our Cabbage Island trip on June 27 went well.  The weather was beautiful, and a good time was had by all 125 Lions members and guests.  Thanks to all the Cabbage Island crew and Lions members who organized a great trip!

We voted to decrease our annual dues, and once again this year, our club will pay the Lions International contribution for any new members.  Please contact any Lions member for more information.

In coordination with the Boothbay Fire Department, we voted to provide assistance with maintenance at the East Boothbay Fire House, which we use as our club house. There are several projects scheduled for the near future. We greatly appreciate being able to use this facility for our club.

The Boothbay Region Lions will again be helping out with Set for Success scheduled for Aug. 22 at the Y.  We hope to provide the spot vision screening machine for eye screening, as we have in the past.

Our next meeting will be Aug. 11, 6 p.m., at the East Boothbay Fire House.

As always, we welcome new members and hope you will consider becoming a member of the Boothbay Region Lions Club.  I am proud to be a member of this organization, which is affiliated with Lions International, the largest service club in the world.
