The Boothbay Region Lions Club met for our first meeting of the new season on Sept. 9.  In lieu of the COVID-19 restrictions, each member attending brought their own meal. 

We voted to send a donation to the St. Andrews Free Bed Fund annual appeal.

The Lions Club continues to try to be creative in fundraising and conducting meetings in this difficult time in our community. We are looking for new members to help us continue to reach out in the spirit of Lionism. If you would like to participate in activities, but don’t want to or cannot attend evening meetings, please speak to a Lion or contact us through our Facebook page.

I, for one, have enjoyed being a Lion as I get a great feeling of satisfaction knowing that we are able to reach out and serve our local community and have fun doing it. Please consider becoming a member.

Our next meeting will be Sept. 23, 6:15 p.m., at the East Boothbay Fire Station.
