The Boothbay Region Lions Club met for a regular meeting on June 10 after over a three-month hiatus. Even though we have not been meeting on a regular basis, we have still been active in helping our community at this difficult time. We have made donations to the Boothbay Region Health Center for personal protection equipment, to the American Legion Post 36 for Boys and Girls State, Rebuilding Together, YMCA Camp Knickerbocker, among others.

At this latest meeting, we were honored to present Lion Glenn Tilton with the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for exemplary service and dedication to our club, our community, and to Lions overall. Lions International recognizes outstanding individuals by bestowing on them an award that is named for its founder Melvin Jones. This Fellowship Award is the highest form of recognition and embodies humanitarian ideas consistent with the nature and purpose of Lionism. 

Our next meeting will be July 8.
