The Boothbay Region Lions Club met for a regular meeting on March 27. We all enjoyed a tasty meal provided by our kitchen crew.

Our guests were senior Seahawk girls, Faith Blethen, Ashley Abbott, Alexis Davison and Madison Barter, and their assistant coach Matt Brewer.  The girls talked about their experience with the team this year and how commitment was the key to their success. They told us what their plans for the future are after graduation and thanked the club for having them to dinner. Coach Brewer also talked about the year and how much the gold ball meant to the community. Faith brought along the gold ball for everyone to see up close.  The girls were each given a yellow rose as a thank you from the club.  The girls’ team finished the season 22-0.

We have recently learned that a group of visually impaired persons meet at the Community Center. Our president Karen Nickerson will reach out to the group to see what we can offer for help.

Our next meeting will be on April 10, and our guest will be Elwin Guthrie, who will speak to us on the census.
