    What a happy sight to see the sun shining brightly on sparkling water and the 420s lined up on their floats!  
     
    Spring sailing has begun, and there are nearly 20 youngsters signed up to brave the chilly winds that mark Spring in Maine.  Ah, youth!  Moorings are in, waiting for the full fleet to join those that have already taken their places in anticipation of a full season of sailing and racing.  
     
    The Junior Sailing Program is filling up fast.  Do get a spot reserved now for any youngsters you expect to be with you this summer or be on the waiting list.
     
    Commodore Liz Rettenmaier reports that over 90% of survey-responding members have been fully vaccinated which predicts a much more normal looking year.  The Club will, however, continue to respect the Maine CDC guidelines out of concern for the safety of all members and guests.  
     
    Club Manager Tom Serino, Commodore Liz, and the Flag Officers are working on the particulars of the Annual Commodore’s Reception which will be held this year. This is such welcome news since none of last year’s events were able to take place due to the pandemic.
     
    Last Saturday many turned out for the Spring Cleanup Day and the Club looks great.  Screens are up on the tennis courts fences, the waterfront is ready to go, and the Club moves ever closer to being completely ready to open.  Thank you one and all! 
     
    The Club Commissioning happens on Saturday, May 29.
