Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club

Hoping you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends.  A chance to slow down and count our blessings.  But, now the Christmas season is upon us.  No more slowing down for a while.  But, lots of opportunities to show our gratitude for family, friends and this wonderful community we live in.  Christmas is a time for giving.  The Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club is excellent at that, but this week we make it fun, fun, fun.

On Monday, Nov. 28 at 5:30 p.m., we gathered to decorate the clubhouse for the holiday season. We shared pizza, salad and wine and put up some of those decorations and the tree sitting in the shed since last Christmas. Every year it’s fun to see what’s been in that storage shed, waiting to turn the clubhouse into a festive holiday place.

On Thursday, Dec 1, we are having our annual Santa’s Helper night. We’ll make around 200 Christmas goody bags for the children at the Food Pantry. Also, this year, we are making 20 “Welcome” tote bags for the homeless veterans moving into the V.E.T.S. trailers. It's always a chaotic, fun, but productive night.

We have two wooden trees that we purchased to support STEM programs at the high school. They are about four feet tall. If anyone has any ideas for decorating those please bring them and supplies for decorating Thursday night. The club will reimburse you for any supplies for this project.
