We will have a short program, mostly a chance to visit with one another safely. Masks and Social Distancing are on the menu, along with any food or drink you bring. Bring your “Happy Hour” specialty, along with chairs and tables. Please let me know if you are coming,it really helps the Railway Village staff so much. ifowle50@gmail.com

There will be a $10 per car donation for the Railway Village at the gate. The staff at the Railway Village have been so welcoming and helpful. Thank you to Steve Markowitz and his crew.

I realized last week that so many of my sentences start with “Join Us.” Well it’s the same this week. Despite, or maybe because of, COVID-19, The Boothbay Harbor Rotary Club is active and engaged in our community. You can be too, just Join Us!

Peggy Belanger, our district governor, joined us last week during our weekly “Zoom” meeting. She reminded us that “Rotary Opens Doors.” She is a lively speaker with a passion for Rotary. She reminded us of the positive impact of Rotary at home and around the world. She applauded our club for our long-term commitment to one of Rotary’s initiatives, the eradication of polio worldwide. She shared the wonderful news that the World Health Organization has declared Africa free of wild polio. All the meetings about Polio Plus, the Polio Plus coin cans on the tables, the commitment of Rotary International to keeping us focused on polio eradication for the long run, has paid off. Africa is Wild Polio-Free. ( I just had to say that twice) Please Join Us, for our weekly “Zoom” meetings. Despite the pandemic, Rotarians are still “people of action” Let me know if you need a link, ifowle50@gmail.com

Our club has always been a dependable supporter of many organizations that make our community such a wonderful place to live. Despite the pandemic we will be able to continue that support because of sales at the Rotary Barn So “Join Us” every Saturday morning at the barn between 8:30-11. We sure do need your help. You’ll have fun and get to spend time with some of your favorite people, other Rotarians, of course. There is plenty to do, sort boxes, move furniture, help with sales. You know the drill, almost like the “Auction,” but redesigned for these crazy times. Just show up Saturday morning at the barn. Masks are required.

Do you miss moving furniture, has your summer felt incomplete because you haven’t been moving enough furniture. I have the solution for that. Join Us! The pick-up teams are busy again and could use your help. We did two pickups last week. Saturday morning we sold almost everything we had picked up. It’s a very satisfying feeling. Text me at 207-315-5429.

Hope to see you Thursday at the Railway Village. No rain date planned, so bring your umbrellas. If I have an umbrella it never rains. Hope it works this time.
