Each fall Coast Guard Auxiliary flotillas select new leadership and this past November, Bruce MacCormac and Wayne Stanley were elected to the Flotilla commander and Flotilla vice commander positions, respectively, for Flotilla 25. Both were sworn-in at the CG Auxiliary Division 2 “Change of Watch” in Portland on Jan. 10.

MacCormac had served one year as vice commander before moving up to the Flotilla commander job, while Stanley had served as the human resources officer for the flotilla prior to assuming his leadership role. In a small flotilla, wearing multiple hats is common and MacCormac will continue in his role as flotilla communications officer while Stanley will stay on as the HR officer.

Flotilla Commander Maccormac, a longtime Boothbay Harbor summer resident, also serves as Station Boothbay Harbor’s lead radio watchstander during his May through October residence on McKown Point. Along with his HR job, Stanley is also a radio watchstander at the station. Stanley’s year is split between a home on Westport Island and a home in Woodstock Virginia. MacCormac’s off-season home is in West Hartford, Connecticut.
