Boothbay falls to Winthrop

The Winthrop Ramblers got balanced scoring from three players and went on to defeat the visiting Boothbay Region Seahawks, 55-37, at Winthrop Thursday night, Jan. 21. Both teams now stand at 1-1 on the season.

Boothbay led at halftime, 20-19, but the Ramblers had a strong second half to get the win.

Maddie Perkins led Winthrop with 18 points, followed by Sage Fortin with 15 and Madison Forgue with 14.

Boothbay was led by Glory Blethen with 15 points, followed by Kathryn Hibbard with 10 and Jaelyn Crocker with six.

The Seahawks’ next scheduled game is at Medomak on Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. The team’s first home game is slated for Thursday, Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. against Hall-Dale.
