Birds have inspired naturalists and artists alike, both in the field and in the gallery. In that spirit, the Boothbay Region Land Trust has partnered with Mathias Fine Art to offer a bird walk and private viewing of bird art on Tuesday, July 10 from 7-10 a.m. Join the Boothbay Region Land Trust at Oak Point Farm, 60 Samoset Rd, Boothbay Harbor.
The day will begin with the song of birds at Boothbay Region Land Trust's new Oak Point Farm. As we walk a one-mile loop through field, forest, and along a freshwater pond and saltwater coastline, we will encounter a variety of the birds found in Midcoast Maine. This walk is perfect for beginning birders and includes some easy tips and techniques to find and identify birds.
After the walk, we will drive five miles north along the scenic Sheepscot River to Mathias Fine Art Gallery (10 Mathias Drive, Trevett). Upon our arrival we will be greeted with coffee, breakfast pastries, and a private viewing of the show, featuring bird inspired art.
This event is free and open to all. Registration is required. Bring binoculars if you have them, or borrow a pair of BRLT’s.
