The Bayville Buzz

Tue, 06/30/2020 - 10:00am

I have no idea if there was a Bayville Improvement Association annual meeting during the Spanish Flu outbreak in 1918 (and Phil couldn't remember), but there will be one this year. I won't be attending as I will be in quarantine, but I will be there in spirit. The latest news and guidelines will be posted at the post office.

If you have any milestones or news, please send it along to thejeffallison@gmail.com so that the meeting can be short and sweet. By the way, my email has been hacked (Phil?), so if you get something from me and the title doesn't look right, don't open it!

I will email out copies of the agenda and treasurers report before the meeting. Please print them out and bring them with you. There will be no food or drink other than what you bring.

The big news in Bayville is that the Friendship Garden is in! Thank you again to Ginger Robitaille for the amazing improvement to Post Office Square!

In addition to balancing the books and collecting checks, Jill Albaum has been working hard too, choosing the beautiful memorial stone at the front of the garden. It will be inscribed soon to remember all those who are no longer with us.

I am sad to report that since we were all last together we lost four members of our community; Midge Brittingham, Connie Fletcher, Richard Cain and Alan Hodgdon. Their smiles will be missed. Our condolences to their families.

Happy Fourth of July everyone! Though things are a bit different this year have fun celebrating our country’s independence!
