Adopt-A-Tree fundraiser participants, winners announced

Wed, 12/28/2022 - 7:45am

A big thanks to the Boothbay Harbor Region Chamber of Commerce and all the participants who made this year’s Adopt-a-Tree event such a big hit. All of the 16, four-foot wooden trees that were designed, cut and primed by the students of Boothbay Region High School’s STEAM Program were sold and nearly all were decorated and entered for judging.

There was a beautiful variety of entries which made the judging difficult. Tom Minerich and Boothbay Region Ambulance Service’s new chief, Dan Gardner, recently made the rounds to view the trees. Chief Dan enjoyed meeting many new friends during the day and continues to be amazed by the welcome he has received having recently moved from Texas to join BRAS.

A big “Thank You” to our sponsors of the Adopt-a-Tree event - proceeds benefit the STEAM program – AE Ceramics, Coastal Maine Popcorn, Farm 23, First National Bank, Hawke Motors, Janson’s Clothing, Maine & Ivy, Midcoast Hospitality-Anchor Restaurant, Newcastle Realty, Pinkham’s Gourmet Market, Rotary Club of Boothbay Harbor, Rotary Interact Club, St. Andrews Village, Steve Lorrain Painting, The Skin Twins RNs, and Tindal & Callahan Real Estate.

The judging is complete and the winners are:

BEST OVERALL: AE Ceramics, Alison Evans and Chris Fritz

BEST USE OF THEME: Anchor Restaurant-Midcoast Hospitality Group

STUDENT’S CHOICE AWARD: First National Bank, Boothbay Harbor

The high school STEAM program will be providing custom made plaques to the winners.

Also, a check will be presented to Education Boothbay in the amount of $600 for the Boothbay Region High School STEAM program.
