3 Boothbay school records set at MVC Championship meet
Three Boothbay track and field records were set May 27 in Readfield during the 2026 Mountain Valley Conference championships. Isaac Fanslau in the 400M dash and Olivia Rittall in the 200M and 400M dashes set school records. Fanslau, Rittall, Ben Gapski and Logan Bourne all won MVC individual championships. Gapski won his in the 110M hurdles. Bourne won the shot put.
Overall, the Boothbay/Wiscasset boys' team finished fourth in the MVC Championships with 90 points. Winthrop won with 114. In the girls' portion, Boothbay/Wiscasset finished sixth with 57.5 points. Lisbon/Oak Hill won with 149.
In the 4X800M relay, the Boothbay/Wiscasset boys finished third with a nine-minute, 18.33 second time. Winthrop won with a 9:05.67. In the 110M hurdles, Gapski won with a 16.56 second time. In the girls' 100M dash, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Moriah Smith finished second with a 13.63 second mark. Rittall finished fifth with a 13.66 and Rose Campbell finished sixth with a 13.68. Evelyn Stevenson of Maranacook finished first with a 13.19.
In the boys' 100M dash, Fanslau finished fourth with a 11.79 second time. Winthrop's Lucas Rice won with a 11.39. In the girls' 400M dash, Rittall won with a one-minute-2.79 second mark. In the boys' 400M dash, Fanslau won with a 53.13 second time. In the girls' 300M hurdles, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Maya Jacobs finished sixth with a 57.4 second mark. Monmouth Academy's Annabelle Carlton won with a 50.92.
In the boys' 300M hurdles, Gapski finished sixth with a 46.86 second mark. Logan Crews of Mountain Valley won with a 42.22. In the girls' 200M dash, Rittall won with a 27.33 second mark. Campbell finished fifth in 28.55. In the boys' 200M dash, Fanslau finished fourth with a 24.45 second time. Henry Tarbuck won with a 23.52. In the 3200M, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Maggie McCarthy finished fifth with a 13-minute, 57.83 second mark. Madison's Bryanna Hagopian won with a 12:08.54.
In the boys' 3200M, Boothbay/Wiscasset's AJ Crocker finished third with a 10-minute, 42.1 secord mark. Dirigo's William Morris won with a 10:00.85. In the boys' 4X400M relay, Boothbay/Wiscasset finished third with a three-minute, 50.14 second time. Winthrop won with a 3:43.69. In the high jump, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Gabrielle Cassidy finished finished fourth with a four-foot, four-inch mark. Maranacook's Ella Giles won with a 4-10.
In the girl's triple jump, Moriah Smith finished sixth with a 30-foot, 11-inch mark. Jillian Smith of Lisbon/Oak Hill won with a 39-2. In the boys' triple jump, Gapski finished second with a 38-foot, 11-inch mark. Logan Crews of Mountain Valley won with a 39-2.
In the boys' javelin, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Aron Geddes finished sixth with a 130-foot, nine-inch mark. Winthrop's Jacob Feith won with a 159-8. In the girls' discus, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Aryana Gray finished fifth with a 27-foot, 10-inch throw. Riley Kuietauskas won with a 29-7.25.
In the boys' shot put, Bourne won with 40-foot, 6.5-inch throw. In the boys' long jump, Gapski finished third with a 19-foot, 5.5-inch mark. Cai Dougher of Spruce Mountain won with a 19-7.25. In the 1600M race walk, Boothbay/Wiscasset's Ross Gaffney finished second with a seven-minute, 36.26 second time. Ryan Hanlon of Lisbon/Oak Hill won with a 7:32.41.
On Saturday, June 6, qualifying Boothbay/Wiscasset athletes will compete at the State Class C Championships in Winslow.
