Led by Rockland City Council, guests are invited to greet the Draken Harald Hafagre, the world’s largest replica Viking ship, as it sails into port with a display of Viking valor and excitement. Captain Björn Ahlander and his crew will step ashore to welcome the crowd and introduce the Draken. This event is free and open to the public. A private welcome reception will follow.
Timothy Noble, a 19-year-old gospel pianist, will perform at St. Andrews Village on Tuesday, July 24th.
Timothy Noble began playing the piano at the age of three. It was then that his parents started noticing his God-given musical talent when he began playing on the piano the hymns he had heard in church. He was enrolled at that young age in a program called Music for Young Children in which he participated until he began private piano lessons at the age of six.
Jerry Wiles, local historian, will share the life of American suffragist Alice Paul with us. Paul co-founded the Congressional Union and then formed the National Woman’s party in 1916. She continued to provide inspiration to new generations of women’s rights activists until her death in 1977. Join us on Monday, July 16, from 2:00 to 3:00pm.
Company owner Dennis Hilton announced recently that Suzanne Strachan, an employee at Cheney Insurance since 2011, has been promoted to the position of Executive Vice President.
