Midcoast Literacy Reader’s Theater

Sunday, April 25 at 4:00pm via Zoom

Get ready to enjoy storybooks in a whole new way! Midcoast Literacy is putting on its second FREE, live Readers Theater production. It will feature local, professional actors reading Doctor DeSoto by William Steig and Today I Will Fly! by Mo Willems. Due to COVID restrictions, the event will be held over Zoom. Viewers will need an online performance link which you can get by going to www.midcoastliteracy.org or by contacting Midcoast Literacy at admin@midcoastlit.org.

The event will feature actors performing all the parts in the two books over Zoom, using fun voices and entertaining expressions to immerse the audience in two classic children’s stories. In Doctor DeSoto, a mouse dentist and his wife agree to treat a dangerous fox with a toothache—but can they trick him into not eating them once the ache has been cured? In Today I Will Fly!, Piggie tells her best friend Gerald the Elephant that she’s going to fly, only to be met by his skepticism, until she gets some unexpected and hilarious help with her dream.

Donations will be accepted to support Midcoast Literacy’s Read Together program which provides free, one-on-one tutoring for students ages 6-14 who are reading below grade level. To RSVP for this one-time-only show, you must register in advance through www.midcoastliteracy.org.
