The Friends of Wiscasset Library operate a Used Book Room in the Library building, which is open to the public any time that the Library is open. The room has been completely renovated over the last three years, and is now a bright, cheerful place to shop for wonderful bargains. On Friday and Saturday, October 12th and 13th, the Friends are going to hold a “clear the shelves” sale, offering all books and other materials at a staggering 50% discount!   Many of these books are in pristine condition and very recent releases, and would make wonderful Christmas gifts. Current prices of $3 for hard cover books, $2 for trade paperbacks, and $1 for mass market paperbacks will be slashed in half, and a large collection of novels which have been priced at 4 for $1 will also be half price.

Reducing the inventory in the Used Book Room will provide much needed space for our annual Children’s Christmas Sale on December 8th, when the Friends will offer area children a wonderful selection of minimally priced gifts for their parents, siblings, and other loved ones.

The First Congregational Church will hold their annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Oct. 13th, from 10 to2, so stop there for some bratwurst and sauerkraut, and then stroll over to the Used Book Room for some fantastic bargains. Hours of the Used Book Room Library sale will be 10 am to 5 pm on Friday, October 12th, and 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday, October 13th.

All proceeds go to support the Wiscasset Public Library and its programs.
